As we close out the Lenten season, let us join together virtually and at select in-person opportunities. Here, you will find a list of offerings and resources for Holy Week at Edenton Street.
Love Feast: Thursday, April 1: 6-7:30 p.m.
On Maundy Thursday, we will be extending our communion table into homes. We will be following a common liturgy at our dining room tables as we gather to pray together, hear together, and feast together to remember Jesus’ commandment to love one another.
Wailing Wall: Friday, April 2: All day
Stations of the Cross: Friday, April 2: 12-3 p.m.
We invite you into a special opportunity to live and participate in the Passion of Jesus Christ. On the sidewalk facing Edenton Street, we will be hosting Stations of the Cross from 12-3 p.m. We will also have an intentionally set aside space all day called a Wailing Wall. This is a place to collect the laments of our city, to hear the cries of your heart, and to hear the cries of our world after this last year of trauma.
Flower Drop-off: Saturday, April 3: All day
We invite you to cut flowers from your garden and bring them to the church on Saturday. There will be a bucket to collect your flowers on the sanctuary steps on Edenton Street. Then, drive by on Sunday or afterwards to see how our Wailing Wall has been transformed by the beauty of your flowers to proclaim that Christ is risen.
Vigil: From Saturday, April 3 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, April 4 at 6 a.m.
We will be hosting an in-person prayer vigil in the Sanctuary to await the light of the risen Christ. Click here to sign up for a 30-minute slot. Masks will be required and all safety guidelines will be observed.
Service of Light: Saturday April 3: Saturday night or early Sunday morning, while it is still dark
For those who will not be physically present, we offer a Service of Light so that you may gather to pray and await the light of Christ’s resurrection wherever you are. Click here to access the Service of Light liturgy.
