CCM Training: Congregational Care Ministry Team

Congregational Care Ministers Training

April 20 to 22, 2018 – on the Original Campus of ESUMC

At Edenton Street, we have a plan for caring for those in our community that involves our 6 ordained ministers, our Stephen Ministers, and our Congregational Care Ministers (CCMs).   We train our CCMs using the model developed by Church of the Resurrection United Methodist Church (COR) in Leawood, Kansas.

As CCMs, we work in the community to provide care that ranges from hospital and senior living visits to hospitality for weddings and funerals. We also offer classes for the community on Grief, Depression, Anxiety, and Divorce Care in order to provide people with a system of support and love through some of life’s greatest challenges. It is a true joy to care for God’s people in this way.

Training to become a CCM will happen in a weekend conference here at Edenton Street. The training will be split into nine sessions over three days and will provide you with the tools necessary to take part in this incredible opportunity.  Our sessions are based on The Caring Congregation written by Karen Lampe for COR

This year we are opening our training to others congregations in our area who would like to explore this type of ministry and to raise the skills of those already doing caring ministry.   The sessions will be held April 20-22:

Friday: Session begins at 5:30 PM (Snacks provided during registration)

Saturday: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Lunch is provided)

Sunday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

We would love for you to join us!  You may register online here.
