Are you looking for a mission project your family or Sunday School class can easily do that does not require a hammer or a paint brush? If so, this is it!
The Sundays before 4th Mondays Edenton Street provides 150 sandwiches to the Shepherd's Table, Raleigh's downtown soup kitchen hosted by The Church of the Good Shepherd. The sandwiches are easy to make and folks of all ages have helped. If you have made a meat, cheese, and mustard or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before, you are pre-qualified!
There are two service options:
- You can offer to sponsor a Sunday by providing the sandwich makers and/or the sandwich supplies.
- You can serve during any volunteer Sunday. This only requires that you show up ready to make sandwiches. All Sundays that are not sponsored by the beginning of the month will become a volunteer Sunday.
If you want more details about sponsoring a Sunday, contact Pat Keane. If you're ready to serve, you're invited to show up on volunteer Sunday. We meet in the (old) Cobb Fellowship Hall at 8:45am on volunteer Sundays to make sandwiches. Thanks!
