Many people in the church have a network of support through Sunday School classes, United Methodist Women Circles, Bible study groups, etc. to care for them in times of grief.

For those who do not have these connections, the Martha Ministry provides support by supplying a meal to the bereaved family on the day of the funeral. Volunteers make an initial assessment of the family's needs and arrange for the meal to be prepared, delivered and served.
