The Adult Ministry at Edenton Street United Methodist Church provides support and guidance for adults by assisting with and creating ministry and program opportunities to increase understanding of Christ’s love for us and our service as the body of Christ.

Our programs listed below fall into two main categories, Bereavement ministries and Adult Enrichment Programs.

Bereavement Ministries

Bereavement Services Network - Raise awareness of the resources and services the church and community can provide for those who are or have experienced a loss, and provide hands-on information for those ministering to the bereaved.

Grief Support Group - A Christian-centered, confidential and nurturing atmosphere to share feelings of grief and stories about their loved-ones, as well as hear from others who are or have experienced similar situations. (May-Dec 2008, 1 st Sunday of month, 2:00 PM, Parlor)

Adult Enrichment Programs

Divorce Care - Support group for those who are or have experienced divorce.

Enrichment Workshops/Seminars - Provide adults with informational and formational workshops and seminars in the areas of spiritual and personal growth.  These will focus on the church, family, and community concerns (i.e. the changing work paradigm, the Baby Boomers impact on culture and society, the Sandwich generation, being single in today’s society and church, financial planning for women.)

Lunch with the Pastors - Informational fellowship with clergy held twice a year. The next Lunch with the Pastors is scheduled for September 21, 2008.  Watch for more information coming this summer.

SALT Shakers (Single Adult Ladies Dining Together)  – Multiple small groups of single female adults (separated, divorced, widowed or single) with the purpose of providing an environment of Christian fellowship, networking and support through monthly lunches or dinners

Summer Fellowship & Study - A three to five week summer Bible study centered on a popular television series (i.e. Mayberry, Bonanza).
